Valor Hospitality Partners has launched a partnership with South African growth-tech platform, Made in RSA, as it explores new ways to diversify its global procurement approach across its international hotel portfolio.
United by a shared love for South Africa and a long history in the hospitality industry, the partnership builds on a long-standing relationship between Euan McGlashan, Valor’s Global Co-Founder & CEO and Madein RSA Founder, Nick Dreyer, who share a commitment to supporting local producers.
This represents a meaningful step in Valor’s ‘A Whole Worldof Local’ ethos, an approach that places authentic local engagement at thecenter of its international hospitality offering and recognises the critical role procurement plays in shaping both the working environment for teams and theoverall guest experience.
Through this collaboration, Made in RSA will assist Valor in identifying and sourcing responsibly produced goods that meet the operational standards required across its global portfolio. The initiative is supported by DHL Express, whose international logistics network will enable efficient global distribution.
Euan McGlashan, Global Co-Founder and CEO of Valor Hospitality Partners, commented: “South Africa holds a deeply personal piece of my heart - I’ve lived there, two of my children were born there, and I am constantly moved by the country's incredible humanity and untapped promise. Beyond that personal tie, the sheer quality of South African goods is world-class. Bringing these products to our guests and Hotelitarians globally is more than a partnership; it’s a thrill. It breathes life into our tagline,‘ A Whole World of Local,’ by giving our properties a truly unique USP. Most critically, this collaboration drives essential employment in a region that needs it, while prioritizing sustainable, planet-friendly production. For me, spearheading a scenario where luxury, soul, and social impact intersect is the ultimate privilege.
Not to mention, South African design is peerless - it is raw, authentic, and frankly, mood-altering. You don’t just see the nation in the vibrant colors and materials; you feel it. My vision is for every guest, in any Valor hotel worldwide, to feel a profound sense of place. That means a connection to thecity they are in, a connection to the humility and grace of the Hotelitarians serving them, and a connection to the global spirit of Valor. By integrating South African design, we are opening a door for our guests to experience andown a piece of the soul of one of the greatest countries we operate in.”
Made in RSA provides access to a curated selection of high-quality South African products, chosen for their craftsmanship, sustainability and suitability for hospitality environments. Initial offerings available to Valor properties include Hotelitarian footwear from Fieldshoes, designed and manufactured in South Africa, heritage-inspired blankets from Thabo Makhetha and naturally harvested seasoning products from Oryx Desert Salt.
By integrating these products into its supply chain, Valor aims to strengthen the connection between its projects and the communities that inspire them, while simultaneously expanding opportunities for South African producers to reach global markets.
“At its heart, the idea is simple,” said Nick Dreyer. “When local businesses are supported in a meaningful way, the communities around them benefit, and hospitality gains a sense of place that cannot be imported or imitated.”
The rollout of the Made in RSA procurement platform will begin in 2026, with products gradually becoming available across Valor Hospitality’s global portfolio.
